idk! fine! whatever! who cares! shut up!

Why don’t you learn a bunch of games that aren’t on your phone?

Cassino

Rian Johnson’s movie The Brothers Bloom showed up back in theaters again a few years ago. Underrated movie that is a little long but still punches above its weight class. Anyways there’s a throwaway line in one scene, one of the brothers throws a card down on the table and says “There’s the big two.” Never even clocked it the first 3 times I saw this movie but this last time I was like Wait is that a real game what’s the deal.

Yes! It’s a semi-obscure card game called Cassino. Not a great name! It was a little difficult to piece together the rules, but between a Hoyle’s book and a handful of semi-contradictory youtube videos I figured it out. Easiest would be for me to just teach you sometime. Just ask! Anyways it’s quick and fun, about 70% strategy and 30% luck. R and I play all the time.

(And incidentally the quote is slightly incorrect, you wouldn’t say “the big two” in Cassino; the two of spades is known as “the little cassino” and the 10 of diamonds is “the big cassino”.)

Card games: good. What should we learn next? idk how about

Backgammon & Cribbage

I mean I don’t really have any stories about these but we learned these next and they’re really fun and we play them all the time, especially cribbage, always looking for new people who want to learn. OK this has been sitting in my drafts for 7 months let’s push the button
